When one thinks of logistics planning, one usually thinks of trucking and shipping of goods around the country or the world. However cruise ships have to consider providing their customers not only with the best itinerary, but also with a path and set of ports that provides the best experience. That often means figuring out the logistics in relation to the weather, and that’s why Royal Caribbean now has a chief meteorologist.
A “Dark Shadows” cruise has to place among the odd OLDWorthy happenings this year. Who would go? The biggest star of the show, Jonathan Frid — who might have had the biggest draw for this cruise — died in 2012. Still, I have to give Royal Caribbean credit for making something OLDWorthy new again.

USA Today introduced their choices for “10 best cruise-ship water slides“. Something fun to think about next time you’re considering a cruise. The Disney Aquaduck looks like a nice ride (below). I like that you can see the outdoors while you ride the tube.

USA Today listed these “10 least-known Florida beaches”. Blowing Rocks Preserve with a jagged coastline, sea caves, and occasional hide tide water spectacles sounds like a very different and special Florida beach.
USA Today likes these “10 Amazing North American road trips”. The Shipwreck Coast, Michigan includes the beautiful Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. The view of the cliffs from the water is spectacular.
According to USA Today, Reuters reported that the Pacific Princess recently headed to the scrapyard. If you look closely in “The Love Boat” opening credits scene below, you’ll see the name of the famous cruise ship. The ship is OLDWorthy, but the lasting memory of this iconic ship will always feel NEWWorthy.
