NEWWorthy online degree – Georgia Institute of Technology

According to the Georgia Institute of Technology, “The Georgia Institute of Technology, Udacity and AT&T have teamed up to offer the first accredited Online Master of Science in Computer Science (OMS CS) that students can earn exclusively through the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) delivery format and for a fraction of the cost of traditional, on-campus programs.”  To be offered in Fall 2014, the cost is expected to be less than $7,000.  That’s a terrific price, but do remember that you might be missing out on the kinds of interactions you might have with teachers, other students, and even sometimes robots (see video below) on campus.

Healthcare pricing information

HealthCareBluebook and FairHealthConsumer provide healthcare pricing information.  I can’t say how well they work in matching actual pricing, but they seem to be two of the better options for trying.  PricingHealthcare, shown below, goes into Beta testing in June according to their website.  You might also find Healthcare.gov helpful.

Potentially good news regarding CoQ10

DoctorsLounge reports that “Common Supplement May Help Patients Fight Heart Failure”.  An abstract of the research paper (“The effect of coenzyme Q10 on morbidity and mortality in chronic heart failure. Results from the Q-SYMBIO study”) can be found here.

While NEWWorthy doesn’t make medical recommendations, we do report on new research findings that may be of interest.
